The Festival of Bellagio and Lake Como will boast in the next edition of the Festival in 2012 dedicated to Liszt and Stendhal, another exceptional collaboration: the Stendhal Center Central Public Library in Milan.
A double reason made Milan the place par excellence Stendhal: Henri Beyle chose Milan because his adopted city, so much to be desired on his grave in Paris’s famous epitaph, “Arrigo Beyle Milanese” and why there is the Municipal Library in Milan at Palazzo Sormani “Centro Stendhal.”
Opened in 1980, the Center houses two important collections: the Fund Bucci and the Collection of Stendhal Pincherle. Both funds, supplemented by an extensive bibliography also updated over the years thanks to a careful policy of acquisitions and today is also aimed at finding specimens still missing many of the libraries of Stendhal and increase the signed documents, allow those who attend the center to find what is indispensable for the deepening and completion of their studies.
